About Kate Bourne Consulting

My fascination with homes began at an early age. I’ve always been drawn to the way spaces are designed, how they flow and how people interact with them. As a guest in others peoples homes, I’d often find myself mentally redesigning rooms and gardens late into the night, imagining how they could be transformed.

It didn’t take long to realise this passion was more than just a passing interest.  Together with my husband, we started a business 20 years ago, renovating country houses. We didn’t just focus on the interior but breathed new life into the gardens too, creating harmonious spaces inside and out.

After a few years, friends began asking for advice on their own houses: 

"Can we take down this wall?" 

"How do we create better flow in our downstairs space?" 

This naturally led me to pursue my own consultancy, where I applied my design skills and project management experience to help others bring their visions to life.

My very first project was for my dear friend Victoria Blashford Snell. And from there, my business grew organically through word of mouth. Ten years later, I’m proud to say my passion for transforming spaces is still going strong. 

Consultation Service
With over 20 years experience, I offer expert advice and creative input for any construction or development project you're considering. During our consultation meeting, I will:

• Spend as much time as necessary to understand your vision.
• Offer innovative ideas and design concepts tailored to your preferences and needs.
• Provide guidance on the steps required to bring your project to life.
• Give insights on timelines, budgets and resources to help you make informed decisions.

After our initial meeting, I will provide a detailed report summarising our discussion, along with a plan outlining my recommendations.

Fee: £250 initial Consultation.

Project Management Service
I will oversee an entire project from concept to completion, whether it’s a house or garden. During our initial consultation meeting, I will discuss my approach, which  includes:

• Generating creative design ideas to match your vision and style.
• Ensuring that all designs and plans are finalised before work begins to avoid costly changes later.
• Continuously looking ahead to ensure smooth project execution.
• Sourcing necessary materials, from kitchens and bathrooms to tiles,  building stone, paint and garden plants.
• Ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest specification.
• Working with the builders, electricians and all trades on-site to ensure the smooth running of the project

Fee: £250 Initial Consultation
